He said former President Mahama realising a flop in his campaign and apparent defeat in the upcoming elections, had now resorted to insults and blaming chiefs, the clergy and other traditional leaders for their support for the NPP Presidential candidate Dr Bawumia.

Speaking during a campaign tour at Ofoase in the Juaben Municipality, the Dr Opoku Prempeh pointed out that, former President Mahama, was now tired and frustrated of how Ghanaians had accepted the vision of Dr Bawumia.

He said former President Mahama was targeting community and opinion leaders because he had seen that the NDC propaganda against the NPP government and Dr Bawumia was not working, since Ghanaians had now seen the differences between the two leading political parties in the country.

“Mr Mahama has realized that the NDC has no chance of winning the presidential and parliamentary elections, so he has directed his frustrations and anger on innocent people.

John Mahama shouldn’t turn his frustration on chiefs, the clergy, Imams and others because they have not offended him.

He knows that the battle ahead of him and his NDC is arduous, so he is picking quarrels with chiefs, Imams and pastors for no reason”, he told the crowd of NPP supporters.

Dr Opoku Prempeh pointed out that, he would continue to visit chiefs, pastors and Imams for their prayers and blessings as well as directions and counselling wherever, he would go to campaign.

“We know the lands belong to our respected chiefs, so I will continue to seek the permission of Nananom before we start our house-to-house campaigns on their lands because I respect them”, he stated.

He said former President Mahama’s criticism indicated disrespect for chiefs, Imams and pastors and urged the people not to vote for him and his NDC in the December elections.
