There is uneasy calm among supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region.
This is because details are emerging over what sources insist is the brazen support for Kwame Asare Obeng aka A-Plus an independent Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency as against the NDC’s candidate Kwame Deen Yawsosn.
Party supporters officially want former President Mahama communication team to state which of the two candidates the party is supporting for the elections.
According to the source, several instances firms its conviction that the NDC led by its flagbearer John Dramani Mahama support A-Plus.
It stated that former President Mahama during the funeral of the father of the Musician turned Politician delegated National Executives of the party and donated a sum of GH¢20,000 to support the funeral.
The source further claimed that A-Plus personally invited former President Mahama to Gomoa Equaakrom festival who again delegated Mr. Johsua Alabi to represent him at the festival.
Already, Gomoa Central Constituency is washed with T-shirts, banners, posters and other party paraphernalia with images of both former President Mahama and A-Plus, fueling rumours of lack of support from former President Mahama.
As though this is not enough, on Sunday October 20, 2024 the pro-A plus NDC supports organized a float to whip up the campaign in the Constituency through towns like Gomoa Kwamekrom, Gomoa Jukwa and Gomoa Manso.
