Member of Parliament for the North Dayi in the Volta Region, Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh, has once again brought smiles to the faces of students and parents in the constituency through her impactful “Going to School With Joy” initiative.
The program, which has been running for four years, provided essential items to 783 students transitioning to secondary school after their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The distribution, held across all nine traditional areas in the North Dayi district, included mattresses, chop boxes, exercise books, mathematical sets, sardines, mackerel, sugar, gari, toilet rolls, sanitary pads, and buckets.
These items are expected to ease the financial burden on parents and foster a smooth transition to secondary school.
In addition to the supplies, some students received cash donations from the MP to facilitate transportation to their schools across the country.
Speaking at one of the distribution ceremonies, Hon. Tetteh emphasized her commitment to ensuring that every student in North Dayi pursues their education without financial constraints.
“Education is the most powerful tool to transform lives and communities. Through the ‘Going to School With Joy’ initiative,’ I want every child in North Dayi to know that their dreams matter and that financial challenges should never hold them back,” she said.
Parents, students, and community leaders. have praised the initiative. Chiefs, elders, and assembly members expressed gratitude for the MP’s dedication to the youth and her efforts to alleviate the financial burdens on families.
A parent, Madam Esi Nyame, expressed her heartfelt thanks: “This initiative has taken a huge load off our shoulders. God bless Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh for thinking of us and our children. She is truly a blessing to North Dayi.”
Another beneficiary, 16-year-old Kofi Dodzi, shared his excitement: “I was worried about how I would get all my school items. Thanks to my MP, I can now start school confidently. I am so grateful.”
The “Going to School With Joy” initiative reflects Hon. Tetteh’s dedication to bridging the gap between basic and secondary education in her constituency. The program ensures students can embark on their academic journey with dignity and confidence by providing essential support.
