Mr Gideon Yeboah, the Asunafo North District Officer of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the Ahafo Region has cautioned the media to be circumspect in reporting from election flashpoints or hotspots constituencies on election day

That would help maintain peace in those areas and the nation by extension, he stated during a media training session on effective election coverage at Goaso, the Ahafo Regional capital.

He said a total of 88,318 eligible voters spread across 210 polling stations in the constituency were registered and expected to cast their ballots on Saturday December 7, saying 35 flash points had also been identified in the constituency.

Mr Yeboah added that 1,428 eligible voters undertook the voter transfer, saying 572 voters would participate in the special voting exercise too.

He urged the media to endeavour to adhere to objectivity, accuracy, and fairness in their reportage to promote peaceful elections, and urged them to also report suspicious characters, and odd behaviours to the security services.

He also urged the electorates not to write anything on the ballot papers but use their thumbs to mark for their choices of candidates on the ballot paper, saying any additional inscription on the ballot paper could lead to a spoiled ballot.
