The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Nabdam Constituency, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, has retained his parliamentary seat in the 2024 general election.
Dr. Nawaane secured 11,192 votes, defeating his only challenger, Charles T. Ndanbon of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 6,680 votes. This victory extends Dr. Nawaane’s tenure as the representative of the Nabdam Constituency, a position he has held since first winning the seat.
Hailing from Kongo-Nangodi, Dr. Nawaane brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to his political role. He holds an M.D. from the Institute of Medicine and Hygiene in St. Petersburg, Russia, and an M.B.A. from the Paris Graduate School of Management.
Dr. Nawaane has focused his political career on improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure in the Nabdam Constituency. His re-election underscores the confidence his constituents have in his leadership and the development projects he has championed.
Charles T. Ndanbon, representing the NPP, campaigned on promises of transformative leadership and infrastructure development but was unable to unseat the incumbent.
With Dr. Nawaane’s victory, the NDC continues to maintain its hold in the Nabdam Constituency as part of its efforts to secure more seats in the Upper East Region.
