The MP-elect garnered an impressive 41,002 votes, representing 86.29% of the total valid votes cast.

He convincingly defeated his closest contender, Mr. Enoch Kwabla Amegbletor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who managed 5,902 votes, accounting for 12.42 per cent.

Other candidates included Pascaline Kassah of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) with 93 votes and Hadzah Shelta Ziodofe Kwesi for the National Democratic Party (NDP) with 128 votes.

Rejected ballots totaled 391, while the overall turnout stood at 67.28 per cent, with 47,516 ballots cast from a pool of 70,628 registered voters. Valid votes amounted to 47,125.

In his victory speech, Mr. Agbana expressed gratitude to the constituents and the NDC campaign team for their unwavering support.

He acknowledged that while his original target during the campaign was 85 per cent, subsequent research raised their expectations to 95 per cent.

Achieving 86.29 per cent, he noted, was a testament to the accuracy of their campaign strategies and the strong connection with the electorate.

“This victory is a celebration of the trust you have placed in us. It also reaffirms the hard work we invested in understanding the needs of the people,” Mr. Agbana said.

He urged constituents to unite behind him and the NDC to fulfill the promises made during the campaign.

He assured them that every commitment outlined in their manifesto would be delivered to improve the lives of the people.

Mr. Agbana would be stepping into the shoes of the incumbent MP, Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who did not seek re-election after serving multiple terms in Parliament.

The transition marks a new chapter for the constituency, with Mr. Agbana promising to build on the foundations laid by his predecessor.

Party sympathizers and constituency executives expressed their elation over the overwhelming victory.

Many viewed it as a strong endorsement of both Mr. Agbana’s leadership and the NDC’s policies.

They also celebrated the anticipated success of the party’s presidential candidate, further solidifying the NDC’s dominance in the Volta region.
