Rev John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament elect in the Assin South Constituency has called on the people of Assinman to unite after the general elections to forge the constituency forward.
In the Parliamentary elections, Rev John Ntim Fordjour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), obtained 14,899, Mr Stephen Kofi Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) got 13,354 and Mr Joseph Kofi Damtse, Independent Candidate had 10,332.
Total valid votes cast is 38,585, and the the total rejected ballot was 557.
Mr Ebenezer Opoku Boateng, Returning Officer for the Electoral Commission declared Rev Ntim Fordjour as MP-elect for the constituency.
Rev Ntim Fordjour said, with the election was over, it was time for the people of Assinman to take stock of what transpired before, during and after the elections, forgive one another and help work to promote the constituency for more development.
The MP-elect said, their indifferences in the constituency was what made him stronger and that by working together, they could achieve more development.
He told them to work together to build a constituency that was just, equitable and peaceful.
Rev Ntim Fordjour thanked God for the victory and appreciated the people in the constituency for the confidence reposed in him.
