The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to resume the re-collation of outstanding constituencies from the December 7 elections.

According to the NPP, its independent collation reveals that it won Dome-Kwabenya, Ahafo Ano North, Ahafo Ano South West, Obuasi East, Techiman South, Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Aowin, Ablekuma North, Tema Central, and Okaikwei Central seats.

Already the EC has declared the party winners of the Suhum, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia seats following recollation of results at the National Police Training School.

Former Chairman of the NPP, Peter Mac Manu, addressed a press conference on Monday, December 16 and called on the various stakeholders to ensure that results are successfully re-collated.

“It is our expectation that the EC will resume the collation immediately, and we implore the National Election Security Taskforce to provide adequate security to facilitate peaceful collation in a serene environment.

“We are also calling on the NDC to caution its supporters. We are very certain that our Parliamentary candidates in those constituencies won the elections.”

The Electoral Commission (EC) temporarily halted the re-collation of parliamentary results for constituencies at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, on Friday, December 13, following growing disagreements over the process.

The re-collation, aimed at addressing discrepancies in the results from several constituencies, was suspended to allow for further consultations with the political parties involved.

The suspension followed a court injunction obtained by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop the re-collation of the Nsawam/Adoagyiri constituency results at the Police Training School in Tesano.
