Nsiah Boakye Andrews, the Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Offinso South Constituency, is recovering from injuries after an alleged attack by the constituency chairman, Joe Sala, and a group of thugs.

The incident reportedly occurred at the party’s office on Tuesday morning.

Sources reveal that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over a brand-new pickup vehicle donated by the party’s national executives during the 2024 general elections.

Following the elections, Mr. Andrews was asked to return the vehicle to the party, but he reportedly resisted, insisting on continued use of the vehicle.

In response to the secretary’s refusal to hand over the car keys, the chairman and his associates allegedly resorted to physical assault.

The group also locked the party office before subjecting Mr. Andrews to what eyewitnesses described as “profound beatings.”

Mr. Andrews is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital, with details of his condition yet to be fully disclosed.

The incident has sparked outrage among party members and constituents, with many calling for an investigation into the matter. Some members have criticized the use of violence to resolve internal disputes, emphasizing the need for dialogue and respect among party officials.

The NPP leadership at the regional and national levels has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

However, calls are mounting for the party to take disciplinary action and ensure accountability to maintain unity and trust within its ranks.
