The Ada Traditional Council, led by the Ada State Manklalo, Nene Aguddey Obichere III, visited Electrochem Ghana Limited on Monday, January 13, 2025, to assess the damage caused by an attack on the company’s premises on January 9.
The attack resulted in significant destruction and theft, including damage to heavy machinery and compressors, the theft of brand-new air conditioners, motorbikes, over 100 mattresses, more than 700 head pans, and large quantities of salt valued in the millions of cedis.
Nene Aguddey Obichere III condemned the attack and called for unity to prevent future incidents.
The attack, he said, is not only an attack on Electrochem Ghana but on the development of Ada as a whole and called for concerted effort to safeguard investments that benefit the area.
The Council expressed its commitment to promoting peace and support the company’s operations.
Nene Obichere III said, “Electrochem Ghana has been a valuable partner in the progress of this community. We will do everything in our power to ensure incidents like this do not recur.”
Officers of the company expressed gratitude for the Council’s visit and pledged to work closely with the community and security agencies to enhance safety measures.
The Ada Traditional Council also urged law enforcement agencies to expedite investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We trust the authorities will ensure those responsible face the full force of the law to serve as a deterrent,” Nene Aguddey Obichere III emphasized.
