President John Dramani Mahama has made new appointments to the national security framework.
Former Chief of Staff and Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, has been named National Security Advisor.
DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed National Security Coordinator while COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.) has been named Director of Operations at the Presidency.
The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) will now be led by Charles Kipo as its Director General. His expertise in intelligence and strategy is expected to enhance the Bureau’s capacity to address emerging security threats.
Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu in a statement dressed the appointments are a clear indication of President Mahama’s resolve to prioritize the safety and security of Ghanaians.
President Mahama, he said, has confidence the team will deliver exceptional results.
The appointees are expected to assume their roles immediately, with the mandate to strengthen Ghana’s security architecture and respond proactively to threats.
