Mr. Godwin Oblandah A.D. Totroku, Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency, has appealed for their Member of Parliament, Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi to be considered for ministerial appointment.
Mr. Totroku, who is also an Assemblymember for the Odumase South electoral area, commended President John Dramani Mahama on his ministerial and Chief Executive Officers appointments so far but mentioned that his Member of Parliament should also be considered.
In a signed statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Totroku also praised President Mahama for appointing Ms. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey as the Eastern Regional Minister.
He said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for appointing the Eastern Regional Minister, Ms. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, from the Krobo area, and to remind you of the pending appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, a distinguished Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency.”
He noted that Mr. Okletey Terlabi’s outstanding performance in the recent December 2024 elections where he received 29,043 votes against the NPP candidate’s 14,653, a difference of more than 14,000 votes, demonstrated his dedication and effectiveness as a leader.
He touted this record is unprecedented in the Eastern Region’s history, which demonstrated his commitment to help the people of Lower Manya Krobo and further the country’s interests.
Currently serving his fourth term as Lower Manya Krobo’s Member of Parliament, Mr. Terlabi has previously held the positions of Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Minister of Defence, and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
He is currently the head of the Eastern Regional Parliamentary Caucus and a ranking member of the Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation Committee in Parliament.
According to him, Mr. Terlabi would be a tremendous asset in any position he is appointed to: “His commitment to public service and his constituents makes him an excellent candidate for your administration.
“I respectfully request that you consider expediting his appointment, since it would not only recognize his contributions but also strengthen our governance,” he added.
