Dear Martin Kpebu!

I am numbed with befuddlement about your thunderous silence over the clear and deliberate posturing of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa not to subject himself for scrutiny by the very standards he has set for others.

Presidential Kufuor, echoes from the past

Your boss, Ablakwa, at his vetting, refused to give details about the ownership of his mansion at Airport Hills. He also failed to show the tenancy agreement covering the property, since he claimed he has rented it. You haven’t said anything about it.

His only source of income has been the salaries he takes as a Member of Parliament which is less than US$1000. This figure, we all know, cannot rent a mansion at Airport Hills. You have pretended to be a stranger to this trending issue.

Your boss, Ablakwa, swore an oath before the vetting, and for that matter, was enjoined by same to submit documents he told the committee he would avail to them, and as we speak, he has not brought a single one of them. Why have you kept quiet about this one as well?

I find it quite interesting that you, Martin Kpebu, has not uttered a word about these corruption-riddled matters surrounding Ablakwa.

You and hypocrisy are like Siamese twins. When some US$1 million was reported to have been lost in the residence of Cecilia Abena Dapaah, you went agog, attacked her and insinuated that she had stolen monies of the state.

You accused her of having more money than the work she had done over the years could give to her. You ignored the fact that her husband is one of the richest architects of the land.

Cecilia Dapaah was a minister under President John Agyekum Kufuor and also an appointee under President Akufo-Addo.

You took to social and mainstream media, went on TV3, and accused Cecilia Dapaah of corruption when there was no reasonable suspicion to suggest so.

You called for Cecilia Dapaah to be subjected to a lifestyle audit since, in your estimation, she has made so much money than the work she has done has paid her.

Why have you refused to call for a lifestyle audit of Ablakwa as you did with Cecilia Dapaah? Ablakwa, clearly, cannot live on GHS15K for the lavish lifestyle he has been living?

If you were an honest person, you’d have been the first person to raise issues with him. If you fail to live up to expectations, then you would be seen as no different from Ablakwa.
