Dear Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa!

You don’t seem to get it. Who cares about whether you own a house or not? Who has issues with whether you rent or not? You don’t get the whole thing.

Let me school you on what the germane issue is. You have said that you don’t own the Airport Hills property, let us assume without admitting that is true.

You have indicated that you rent it and you have been renting it for the past 8 years or so. You have provided a letter to the landlord asking for information on the tenancy to be shared with Ghanaians.

What your landlord provided is not the full information with regards to the tenancy agreement. What is a tenancy agreement without how much you pay for the property? Which serious institution would swallow this crap of information as the full details of a proper tenancy agreement?

Now, let me tell you something. The issue really is about HOW MUCH YOU PAY AS RENT EVERY MONTH. Can you tell all of us and show proof of same?

More importantly, since you have publicly admitted to Ghanaians that your only source of income for the past 8 years has been your salary as a Member of Parliament, GHS15, how do you pay for a property in a prime area like Airport Hills?

We believe you lied about it. A property at Airport Hills, we know, on average, wouldn’t cost anything less than US$5000, which hovers around GHS75K a month. Subtract GHS75K from GHS15K and tell us if you can justify your claim that your only source of livelihood is the salary from Parliament.

To end this matter and to exonerate yourself from this matter, simply display the original tenancy agreement for all to see.

You can never display the tenancy agreement because you know that it is at variance with the GHS15K monthly salary from Parliament.

We are only interested in how much you pay for the house and whether your GHS15K is enough to cover your rent plus other expenses.

This your attempt to get the landlord to write this empty note to us has ended up exposing you the more. I have these concerns I would like you to address them:

1. The land title certificate as you have displayed, was issued in December 2017, but the first tenancy agreement is dated March 1, 2017 and approved on August 8th 2017. The tenancy agreement was approved before the Land Title Certificate was issued, which raises some questions.

2. Does it imply the Land Title Certificate was issued way after the land was developed and completed? By March 2017, the property was ready for rental

3. If Finali owned the land and had legitimate rights and papers to the land and resold it to your landlord, the Land Title certificate process should not delay at Lands Commission.

The more you defend yourself, the more you make a mockery of yourself. Not everyone is as gullible as some of your party members who hail you all the time.

Bring sunshine to these grave concerns. You can’t do that because you would be exposed further. ORAL doesn’t suit you because ORAL should first target you, Ablakwa.
