Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA), has toured the ongoing construction site of the Keta Ports and Harbour Administration office block project at Kedzi in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region.

Brigadier-General Tanye-Kulono, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, expressed government’s commitment and readiness for the continuation of the project and pledged that funding and other forms of support would be provided for the progress of a success project.

“This is my first visit here so l don’t have much to compare now and maybe the next time that l come here, l will be in a better position to express my opinion but so far, so good,” he said.

He also expressed his disappointment about the progress of the ongoing construction project which he described was moving on a slow pace and needed to be supported to meet the stipulated time of completion for progress of the nation as well as that of the entire Volta and Keta communities.

He commended and thanked stakeholders, chiefs, groups of constructors and all communities for various constant roles played to support and provided for the development and progress of project and appealed for more till the end of the work.

“I am expecting the work to progress more beyond what l am seeing today, but this is what l have inherited and there is nothing to complain about rather than to continue the project from where it has been left.”

Mr Yaw Gyamfi Boateng, the Chief Executive Officer of PSB Realty Limited, the construction firm in charge for the ongoing Keta-Port and harbour administrative office project, disclose that the building was initially scheduled to be completed in November 2025 but had delayed due to some challenges.

He said that the building project is 23 per cent complete adding that,” we are praying that if everything goes on according to what we have planned and with all other supports from government, by March 2026, l am sure we will complete with sixth floor building together with any other work here.”

Brigadier General Paul Tanye-Kulono and his team used the opportunity and visited Togbi Joachim Acolatse V, the Paramount chief of Kedzi Traditional council, whose jurisdiction the construction project is ongoing at Kedzi.

The team also visited Togbi Sri lll, the Overlord (Awamefia) of Anlo State, and other chiefs pledged to provide all necessary ideas and support for the successfulness of the project.
