The fake doctor who was arrested in Kasoa was caught dressed in a white lab coat with a stethoscope, posing as a medical doctor while preparing to deceive another potential victim.

Authorities recovered various medical items from the scene, including two stethoscopes, three IV drips, five syringes, six vaccine bottles, two sample bottles, one roll of medical plaster, and an amount of GH¢8,500 in cash.

During police interrogation, Kow-Assifuah confessed to impersonating a doctor at the fictitious United Brain Hospital.

He also admitted to running an online romance scam in Ghana, targeting women with promises of love and overseas travel in exchange for money.

The suspect is currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. He is expected to be arraigned in court soon.

This arrest underscores the rising cases of online fraud, romance scams, and fake travel agents in Ghana, particularly in areas like Kasoa.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help combat cybercrime and impersonation fraud in the country.
