The Eastern Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, Kwame Appiah Kodua landed a hefty slap on a Journalist on Sunday during the Eastern Regional Annual Delegates Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party, held in Kyebi.

The slap which sounds continued to echo saw the Journalist wobbled and nearly landed on the floor.

For a moment, the Journalist went blackout as a result of the slap but regained consciousness. He was confused and embarrassed hence started wandering and whining other Journalists.

Mybrytfmonline.com gathered that the Journalist sneaked into the conference room where the participants of the delegate’s conference and the party executives were having an indoor meeting session of the conference to discuss internal party matters.

The Eastern Regional Organizer who doubles as the Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Kwame Appiah Kodua spotted the Journalist, raged, and accosted him for allegedly recording the proceedings even though the Journalist denied it.

The Journalist explained that he entered to sit close to the entrance to seek shelter since it was raining heavily

Mr. Kodua who was not satisfied with the explanation ordered the party security to seize his mobile phones and throw him out.

He however, followed the Journalist to slap him despite knowing him personally as part of Journalists who have been covering events for the party in the region for a very long time.

The Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong quickly rushed to the rescue of the Journalist, ordered that his mobile phones were given back to him.

The Minister described it as unfortunate and unreservedly apologized to the Journalist and assured him that he will handle the issue.

Daniel Bampoe has reported the incident to the Eastern Regional Chairman of Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Maxwell Kudekor, who was also at the conference.

Kwame Appiah Kodua is known for his hot temperament and arrogance a weakness that has affected his political career hence threatened to be axed as regional Organizer.

Sensing defeat, he has announced not to seek reelection rather eyeing to become a Parliamentary candidate for the NPP in Fanteakwa North but seems to be already facing stiff protest by the youth in the Constituency against his intention.
