SPEAK FRUITFUL WORDS

A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, And the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him. Proverbs 12:14

In addition to thinking productive thoughts, we must speak life-giving words. Our words have a tremendous effect on our lives. Our words will either make us fruitful or barren.

Words are the fruit of our lips. What we say can either satisfy us with good things or deny us the abundant life that God wants us to have. Some people kill every good thing in themselves with their words

Walking with God requires agreement with God. We cannot claim to walk with God and, at the same time, be in disagreement with Him.

The basis of our agreement with God is His word. His word is what He has given us for us to know Him and relate to Him. Agreeing with God is agreeing with His word. To live fruitful lives, we must speak words that align with what the Lord has called us to be and what He has invested in us.

We miss what God has for us when we punctuate our phrases with ‘I can’t do it’, ‘I’m too old’, ‘It’s impossible’ and other self-defeating expressions.

Let us learn from God, how He used His words in the first chapter of the Bible. He used two phrases to get all that He did, done.

1. Let there be. These are the first set of phrases that God used. He used these words to bring things into existence. When there was no light, the Lord said, ‘let there be’. Anytime He wanted something to become a reality, He used this phrase. From this, we learn that we can use our words to make things happen.

2. Let us make. The Lord used this phrase when He was about to create humankind. He used this expression to call Himself into action. When He wants to do something, He speaks Himself into it. From this, we learn that we can use what we say to get us to do things.

Everything that humans have done follows this pattern. People talk about what they intend to do before they do them. They also call themselves into action through inspirational statements. Fruitfulness requires that we master the words we speak to situations and ourselves.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to say the right words over my life. I declare that I am blessed of the Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 12:1-14

1 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction is stupid.

2 A good man obtains favor from the Lord, But a man of wicked intentions He will condemn.

3 A man is not established by wickedness, But the root of the righteous cannot be moved.

4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

6 The words of the wicked are, “Lie in wait for blood,” But the mouth of the upright will deliver them.

7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, But the house of the righteous will stand.

8 A man will be commended according to his wisdom, But he who is of a perverse heart will be despised.

9 Better is the one who is slighted but has a servant, Than he who honors himself but lacks bread.

10 A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 He who tills his land will be satisfied with bread, But he who follows frivolity is devoid of understanding.

12 The wicked covet the catch of evil men, But the root of the righteous yields fruit.

13 The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, But the righteous will come through trouble.

14 A man will be’ satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, And the recompense of a man`s hands will be rendered to him.
