The match review panel of the GFA have relieved Eso Morrison from refereeing all Ghana premier league games for eight weeks.
His suspension came after Hearts submitted a complaint against the referee to the GFA. Hearts’ complaint indicted the referee for wrongfully sending off defender, Mohammed Alhassan.
The complaint also made mention of the referee wrongfully waving off a penalty decision in favour of Hearts, after Adam Farouk brought down Afriyie Barnieh in the 23rd minute.
Hearts of Oak also made reference to Morrison ignoring Farouk’s involvement in yet another infringement. The defender brought down Kofi Kordzi who was through on goal.
The match review panel in response to Hearts agreed with Morrison’s first call. They indicate that “per the video watched, the 23rd minute complaint did not show any clear contact of the two players involved in the tackle.”
However, they found the referee guilty of wrongfully ignoring a blatant foul for Hearts, after Farouk wrongfully brought down Kofi Kordzi.
They also charged Morrison for wrongfully sending off Alhassan, after Aduana FC’s Bright Adjei fell in Hearts’ penalty box.
Hearts of Oak who lost the game to Aduana, are now in the relegation zone after Medeama beat Karela 2-0 in Tarkwa.
