According to the chairman, Mr Agyeman Manu, has refused to appear despite numerous invitations to him.

At a public hearing of the Committee into financial malfeasance raised against some MDA’s by the Auditor General, the Ketu South MP, described the Minister’s actions as a sign of disrespect given that he was a former chairman of the committee.

“The Minister of Health does not respect this committee. He was the former chairman of this committee. He was the one inviting people and when people don’t come, he doesn’t take it lightly. Now he himself is doing exactly what he was against.”

The chairman further added that the Ministry’s name appeared in a 2018 audit report thus will have to appear to account for the money spent.

“You have spent public money. Come and account for it. Your name appeared in an audit report indicating there is something wrong. Come and tell us how you will resolve the issue…they invite you and you do other things. It’s not nice.”

Mr Klutse Avedzi warned that he will report the issue to the plenary for the necessary actions to be taken.

“We are not doing this job for fans. We have the backing of the standing orders of parliament. We’ll report to the house for the house to take a decision.”
