The Member of Parliament for Gushegu constituency in the northern region, Lawyer Alhassan Tampuli, has presented about 125 pieces of LCD flat-screen television sets to elders of his constituency as part of a series of activities to commemorate Ghana’s 65th Independence anniversary last Sunday.

The beneficiaries included both male and female elderly people from various zones in the Gushegu municipality. The gesture is the personal support of the lawmaker to these Senior Citizens in the municipality who have contributed in diverse ways to the growth of the area.

This also included elders of the governing New Patriotic Party in the constituency who also dedicated their youthful energies and resources over the years to make the party attractive in the constituency.

In his remarks after the presentation, the Gushegu legislator said the intervention will continue for more people to also benefit from their outstanding service to the community and urged the people to keep with him as he continues to diligently discharge the mandate repose in him.

The Deputy Minister for Transport said the people of the Gushegu municipality will not be left out in the national development agenda and promised to continue to operate an open-door policy.

Mr. Tampuli however admonished elders of the NPP in the constituency to provide the required counselling to all party faithful in order to foster unity and cohesion.

He also challenged the constituency executives to work efficiently towards the party’s unity in spite of their individual differences as the party begins the reorganization of its organs from the polling station to the constituency, regional and national as well as the impending presidential elections.

The NPP Gushegu constituency Chairman thanked the lawmaker for the donation, asserting this is a novelty in the political history of the constituency.

He also congratulated all beneficiaries and pleaded with those who could not get the television sets to patiently wait for their turn in subsequent years.
