The Public Affairs Department of Parliament has said in a statement that a series of petitions have been filed at the Office of the Speaker of Parliament.
According to the statement, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin is expected to present those petitions before the House for consideration.
“The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament has already admitted questions and petition to be brought before the House,” the statement noted while announcing that the House resumes today Tuesday, May 24, 2022, for the commencement of the second session of the 8th Parliament of Ghana
The statement said 69 bills are expected to be presented to the House.
Prominent among the 69 bills include the Affirmative Action, Rent, and Intestate Succession bills
Already 10 bills including the Exemptions Bill 2022, Ghana Hydrological Authority Bill 2022, and Ghana Standards Authority Bill 2022 which are currently at the committee level will also be brought before the plenary for debate and passage.
A statement signed and issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of Parliament said “during the meeting, Instruments, Papers, Motions, and referrals to committees will be presented to the House for debate and approval. The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament has already admitted questions and petition to be brought before the House.”
