Angry party people will vote against NPP – Kwabena Agyepong warns

Flagbearer hopeful of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Kwabena Agyepong has warned other candidates in the race especially those in government beating their chest boastfully saying they have won to be careful because that is not the reality on the grounds.

According to Mr. Agyepong, after his campaign tour of the country, he has come to the realization that the grassroots of the party are poised to vote against people in government with anger.

The former NPP General Secretary claims most people he interacted with during his tour across the country are very angry with the way things are being done under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

According to him, there will be major shocks during the upcoming NPP primaries slated for November 2023.

Speaking to Angel FM Kumasi in an interview, Mr Kwabena Agyepong said, “You go to the grounds and see, if you know how angry they have been you wouldn’t say what you are saying. You are going to be surprised how they will vote against you”

“Nobody can determine who is going to win in an election and I begin to laugh when I hear people say they have won,” he warned.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set November 4, 2023, as the date for its presidential primaries to select a flagbearer for the general elections in 2024

So far, Former Agric Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen the Former Trade Minister, Mr Boakye Agyako Former Energy Minister and Hon Kenndey Agyapong, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong Former General Secretary of the party, Former Attorney General and Minister for Justice Joe Ghartey, Mr Francis Addai Nimoh and Dr Konadu Apraku have all made their intentions to contest in the upcoming Presidential primaries.
