The immediate past Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho has taken to Twitter to question the basis for his expulsion from the Umbrella Party.
The party in a statement issued and signed by its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the Founder & CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute and Former Presidential Aide has been expelled from the party for his “misconduct and anti-party behaviour”.
But hours after the news, the former Head of Communications at the Office of the President wrote on his Twitter timeline: “Article 25 of the NDCs constitution states that when the NDC is in opposition without a Flagbearer, the National Chairman is the Leader of the Party. Anyone who refers to himself/herself as Co-Leader in contravention of the NDC’s Constitution, is a dreamer.”
It is unclear whether Koku by this post is seeking to challenge the current structure of the party that supervised his dismissal.
