A 46-year-old man from Fleetwood, identified as Harrison Adu Boakye, has been taken into custody in the United States (US) and charged with aggravated assault after his 33-year-old wife died in an alleged domestic incident.
Boakye was arrested on Friday afternoon in connection with the death of the woman, who was his wife.
Following an investigation by Berks County detectives into the incident, Harrison Adu Boakye was charged with aggravated assault.
Boakye was taken to the Berks County Sheriff’s Central Processing Unit for processing and arraignment.
Officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is pending.
According to detectives, the following account was provided:
On July 7, 2023, at 8:25 a.m., Fleetwood police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic situation at a residence on Middleton Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the unresponsive 33-year-old woman inside the house.
Despite life-saving measures by the responding officers and emergency personnel, the woman could not be revived.
The coroner was notified and later pronounced the victim deceased.
An investigation was initiated by detectives, leading to the arrest and charging of Harrison Adu Boakye.
