The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a new membership dues system aimed at boosting the party’s finances, improving membership recruitment, and enhancing the welfare of its members.

National Chairman, Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim, made this announcement at a press briefing held at the party’s National Headquarters in Asylum Down.

Mr. Ntim explained that the decision to restructure the membership dues was approved by the National Council (NC) of the party on July 20, 2023.

The new system applies to all party members across the country and in external branches.

“The party’s constitution enjoins all members to pay dues and make donations to sustain the party and ensure its growth,” Mr. Ntim said, emphasizing the importance of financial contributions from party members.

Under the new system, membership dues have been categorized to cater to different financial capacities.

Members can now conveniently pay their dues using an in-built technology by dialing 920270# and following the prompts. The membership dues categories are as follows:

  • Bronze category – ₵ 2.00 per month

  • Silver Category – ₵ 5.00 per month

  • Gold Category – ₵ 8.00 per month

  • Platinum Category – ₵ 10.00 per month

The National Chairman also mentioned the existence of a ‘Patrons’ category, where individual party members can contribute substantially to the progress of the party at various levels, including the constituency, regional, and national levels.

Mr. Ntim indicated that the new payment system is more convenient, transparent, and efficient, ensuring greater accountability in the party’s financial management.

He announced that, additionally, benefits will be provided to members who consistently pay their dues, and that further details on these benefits will be communicated to the public soon.

In a call for support, Mr. Ntim urged the media to assist in creating awareness and sensitizing party members about the new dues payment system.

He expressed optimism that the media’s cooperation would help spread the message across the entire country.

The National Chairman affirmed the party’s commitment to the growth and prosperity of the New Patriotic Party and the nation of Ghana.
