Samuel Sarbah Lartey the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate hopeful known in the Ablekuma South Constituency known as “Teacher Agoe” has filed his nomination forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

The three-time unsuccessful parliamentary aspirant filed his forms at the Mamprobi – Sempe Office of the party at Accra on Wednesday August 9.

The aspirant, who was also the former Constituency Secretary of the Constituency was accompanied by scores of Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Council of Elders and Patrons, and loyal supporters.

Addressing the gathering after the filing, Hon. Lartey said he was overwhelmed by the teeming Polling Station Executives who came from across the five electoral areas to support him.

He expressed confidence and trust that the supports would go a long way to assist him win the primaries and further recapture the parliamentary seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2024.

Hon. Lartey called for unity and mutual understanding among the members, adding that without unity it would be extremely difficult to achieve the aims and objectives of the party.

‘’Though I have not assumed the position of an MP, I have tried my best to secure jobs for the youth in the area of education, health, security and others including solving financial problems.’’

Hon. Lartey appealed to the rank and file of the party to bury their differences, saying that there is hope for the future that would enable the party emerge victorious in the next parliamentary elections.

He believes that, now is the time for him to lead the party and urge all to rally behind him in the event of the general elections to run a vigorous and effective campaign to garner votes.

He said he has a good chance of winning the seat because he is a native of the Constituency, schooled, have friends and relatives, siblings, family members, established school and pharmacy, and well connected with the people in the Constituency in many diverse ways.

Collins Kofi Asante, Constituency Chairman and member of the Election Committee after the filing had a word of advice to the aspirant and his supporters to desist from any acts that will cause division but to work hard to assist the party win the next elections.

He called for unity, love and peace among the supporters in the Ablekuma South NPP because without unity it would be difficult to recapture the seat in the next elections.

The Election Committee Secretary assured Hon. Lartey that the committee would submit the forms to the Regional Office of the party after close of nomination date given by the National Election Committee.
