Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, says he has seen enough from his team in two games to give him confidence.
He said this after Ghana beat Liberia 3-1 in an international friendly game on the back of registering a 2-1 win in a crucial 2023 AFCON qualifier over Central African Republic (CAR).
Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew scored for Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium against Liberia.
Jordan Ayew’s goal came on his landmark 92nd appearance for the Black Stars to become the fourth most capped player.
Speaking to the media after the game, Hughton indicated that though there are things the team could do have done better, he had seen enough to be confident about his team.
“I have seen enough in the two games to always give me confidence. There’s still things we could have done better. Today in the first half, we gave the ball away.
The pitch was difficult with obviously the rain but I thought we gave the ball away too easily at times in that first half period…but I’ve seen enough in the two games to be confident and optimistic and looking forward to the next camp.”
Ghana plays Mexico next on October 14 in a friendly.
