Former Trade Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who narrowly missed securing the flagbearer position in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), is set to unveil his political future on Monday, September 25, 2023, during a scheduled press conference.
Mr. Kyerematen despite finishing third in the initial round of the NPP’s flagbearer selection, which trimmed the candidate pool from ten to five contenders decided to withdraw from the November 4 congress, alleging bias on the part of the party’s leadership in favour of a specific candidate.
Amidst widespread speculations, there is anticipation that Mr. Kyerematen might opt to cut ties with the party and chart his course for the presidency as an independent candidate.
However, the veil of uncertainty surrounding his next move will be lifted later today when he reveals his future intentions.
The possibility also exists that he may opt to continue his political journey within the party, potentially throwing his support behind one of the remaining four candidates vying for the coveted flagbearer position, or venture forth in pursuit of his political ambitions independently.
