“It is within this context of heightened violence and despair that we, the International Youth Network for UNSCR 2250, earnestly call upon world powers and the international community to take decisive action and processes to halt the escalating conflict between these two nations.”

The organization’s statement, which follows the escalating violence between Israel and Palestine, serves as a clarion call for the restoration of calm, emphasizing the critical importance of an immediate ceasefire and urging for diplomatic solutions that respect the dignity and rights of all those in the region.

Central to their mission is the involvement of youth voices in peace-building efforts, highlighting the pivotal role of diplomacy and adherence to international law and justice.

Hopeson Adorye further emphasized the organization’s key principles and expectations stating, “We beseech world powers to rise above differences and come together in the pursuit of peace and harmony, as the future of the region and its people hang in the balance.”

“In this statement, the International Youth Network for UNSCR 2250 outlines our fundamental principles and expectations, calling for a concerted effort to restore calm, alleviate suffering, and work towards a lasting, just, and peaceful solution in the Middle East.”

The organization’s plea outlines specific actions that the international community should take to address the crisis.

These include an immediate cessation of hostilities, unimpeded humanitarian aid delivery, diplomatic engagement, international mediation, protection of civilians, support for a two-state solution, active involvement of youth in peace-building efforts, and regional cooperation.

Speaking on these crucial points, Adorye stated, “A just and lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, negotiation, and respect for the rights and dignity of all people in the region.”

“We call on world powers to act swiftly and decisively to prevent further suffering and pave the way for a brighter future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”

As the conflict continues to unfold, the International Youth Network for UNSCR 2250 hopes its impassioned plea does not fall on deaf ears and that decisive actions will be taken to bring an end to the violence and pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
