The leadership of Deans of Constituency Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has vehemently denied recent claims suggesting they received GH₵100,000.00 and pick-up vehicles each from Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The alleged bribes were said to have influenced their votes in the special delegates’ election on August 26, 2023.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, October 25, the NPP Constituency Chairmen declared the claims as “false, baseless and calculated to soil our integrity.”

They asserted their unwavering dedication to the NPP and its principles, emphasizing that their loyalty and allegiance could not be compromised for financial gain.

Speaking on behalf of the Deans of Constituency Chairmen, Dominic Bosompin, the Chairperson of the group stated, “We wish to assure Party executives from the National, Regional, and Constituency levels, Polling Station Executives, and the teeming members of the great Elephant Party across the 275 Constituencies that our integrity as Constituency Chairmen is intact and can never be sold for any amount of money or vehicles.”

The statement further urged Party leaders, members, supporters, sympathizers, and all well-meaning Ghanaians to disregard the ‘baseless and false claims.’

The Chairmen called for a campaign season focused on issues and urged candidates to avoid mudslinging, asserting that such practices could harm the Party’s reputation and its prospects in the upcoming elections.

He stated, “We advise all the rank and file of the Party to stay united, focused, and channel our strengths and energies to elect a Candidate among the four to lead us to win the general elections of 2024.”

The Chairmen expressed their faith in the democratic process and called for party members to stand together, undivided, as they prepared for the crucial 2024 general elections.

The party leadership has, on several occasions, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for solidarity and dedication to the NPP’s core values.
