Former presidential staffer Stan Dogbe has dished out scathing criticism against the Chief Justice, ministers, and the entire government for the handling of the Akosombo Dam spillage crisis.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he questioned the government’s approach and demanded transparency regarding the ‘supposed’ relocation plans for affected communities, businesses, and health facilities.
“The Chief Justice and Akufo-Addo’s ministers berating communities for refusing to relocate must tell us where they arranged shelters for those who were asked to move but refused,” Stan Dogbe stated, highlighting the lack of clarity surrounding the relocation efforts.
He lambasted the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government, asserting, “The government, along with its appointees, must stop lowering the standards of governance,” echoing the growing concerns among citizens about the government’s ability to handle crises effectively.
Below is his post on X
The Chief Justice and Akufo-Addo’s minister who are berating communities along the Volta River for refusing to relocate from their homes before the spillage; can they tell us where they arranged the temporary shelters the communities, businesses and health facilities were to relocate to, and they refused?
The Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government, along with its appointees, must stop lowering the standards of governance.
Nothing can absolve the VRA board and management from blame for failing to develop and implement a disaster preparedness, management, and relief plan, with an inbuilt sensitization plan before spilling the dam.
For me, the government has once again displayed its gross insensitivity to the plight of the affected communities and businesses.
We know as the President confirmed publicly, that he is not bothered because the affected communities are not in his party’s strongholds. This is wrong!
