According to National organiser Henry Nana Boakye, who posted details of the visit on his Facebook page on Monday, November 6, 2023, the atmosphere was charged with unity and enthusiasm as the leaders of the NPP gathered at the Vice President’s residence.

During this visit, Dr Bawumia, the newly elected leader and presidential candidate of the NPP, seized the opportunity to reinforce his commitment to fostering unity within the party.

With an unwavering dedication to the NPP’s ultimate success, Dr. Bawumia vowed to lead the party cohesively as a united force.

In an address, the Vice President expressed his determination to deliver victory for the NPP in the forthcoming general elections, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

He emphasised that the key to success lies in the collective efforts of the party, and he pledged to harness the party’s strengths to secure a triumphant outcome at the polls.

The visit and Dr. Bawumia’s heartfelt assurances have ignited a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm among NPP members and supporters, as noted by Nana B.

“With the upcoming general elections on the horizon, the NPP stands united under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia, as they march forward with determination and solidarity, driven by the vision of securing victory for the New Patriotic Party,” he said.

Dr. Bawumia on Saturday, November 4, 2023, defeated Kennedy Agyapong, the outspoken Assin Central MP; Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former Minister for Agriculture; and former Mampong MP, Francis Addai-Nimoh, to become the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.

Dr. Bawumia polled 118,210 votes representing 61.47%, while his closest contender, Mr. Agyapong, polled 71,996 votes representing 37.41%. Dr. Afriyie Akoto, who placed a distant third, polled 1,459 votes representing 0.76%, while Addai-Nimoh garnered a meager 731 representing 0.41%.

A total of 192,446 delegates voted in Saturday’s presidential primary.
