Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader in Parliament has accused the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta of ruining Ghana’s economy.
He said the current government is leaving behind massive debts for the people to pay.
In an interview in Parliament after the presentation of the 2024 Budget, the Minority leader claimed that the Finance Minister, with the help of Dr Bawumia, has destroyed the economy.
The government, he said, will be leaving behind a bankrupt economy bedevilled with massive corruption.
During the budget presentation on Wednesday, November 15, the Finance Minister declared that Ghana’s economy under the Akufo-Addo administration will be valued at over GH¢1 trillion by the end of December 2024.
This is against the GH¢219.5billion that was inherited from the Mahama administration in 2016.
Mr Ofori-Atta further stated that the government is focused on maintaining the growth that the economy is presently experiencing and assured that the government is determined to ensure the stability of the local currency and disinflation over the medium term.
