According to news reports, the Accra High Court acquitted and discharged the remaining two individuals, Bismark Donkor and Bismarck Abanga after the jury returned a not-guilty verdict in their favour.

The accused persons had been standing trial on charges ranging from murder, and abetment to murder, and conspiracy to commit murder. The verdict, resulting in life sentences for twelve individuals, marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice for the heinous crime committed against Major Maxwell Mahama.

Maj. Mahama met his untimely death at the hands of an irate mob at Denkyira Obuase in the Central Region whilst on official duty as detachment commander, on Monday, May 29, 2017.

He was promoted posthumously to the rank of Major on June 5, 2017.
