GRIDCo blames faulty equipment at Mallam substation to Sunday’s power outage

The Ghana Grid Company LTD (GRIDCo) has confirmed that the power outage on Sunday, 3 March, was caused by a fault on a piece of equipment at the Mallam substation.

Some customers in the western areas of Accra, Winneba and Takoradi experienced a power cut on Sunday.

In a statement, GRIDCo said that their engineers have quickly isolated the faulty equipment for further investigation.

The company added that restoration of supply to affected customers started immediately.
