There were loud cheers from the hundreds of spectators that thronged the Jubilee Park to witness the colorful parade, as students delivered brisk marching routines that caused their white-socked feet to move in rhythmic lines to the beats of the marching band.

The parade was under the command of Captain Kofi Krah Mensah.

Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister, who inspected the parade together with Mr Divine Bosson, the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, stood to receive the coveted salute as the various schools marched past.

Following closely behind the students was the security contingent numbering eight, who also attracted wild admiration from the crowd.

The Regional Minister commended the students and security personnel for their excellent display of matching skills and acknowledged the Region for the massive turnout at the event.

He called on all to try to safeguard the Fourth Republic and remain united on the duty to protect the nation’s peace in an election year.

He said it was only through a stable economy that the desired transformation of the country could be realised, and thus the people must strive to ensure quality education, healthcare, and infrastructure development, among others.

There were cultural displays to spice up the celebration, and the school children took the opportunity to make photo memories with members of the security forces.

The Ambulance Service in the Ho Municipality and the Red Cross organisation, were on hand to manage health challenges during the long hours of the celebration.

Vendors made brisk business, selling foods, snacks, and paraphernalia.

Sme of the students who took part in the march told the Ghana News Agency that it was an endurance test, but they were overjoyed for the successful outcome.

Other members of the public who attended the celebration attested to the fact that it was an opportunity to celebrate the unity established by Osagyefo Dr Nkrumah and said they would use the day to preach peace and unity in their respective communities.
