GPL: Hearts of Oak get revenge over Lions with win at Legon Stadium

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club got revenge over Kpando Heart of Lions in the Ghana  Premier League after bagging a 1-0 win over the Kpando lads after losing 2-0 to Lions in the first round of the 2024-2025 season.

The game marked both teams first outing in the second round of the campaign and Mawuli Wayo’s converted penalty kick in the 50th minute earned the Phobians the close win; prior to the win, Hearts had recorded back to back draws.

Lions and Hearts split possession and did same on goal attempts in the game as both teams registered five attempts. Hearts move into fourth place after the win.

After impressing in the win, Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, was showered with money by some supporters of the club at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Hearts take on Bechem United next on January 9 away from home; Bechem take on Aduana Stars on Sunday, January 2. Scroll down to watch Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare get sprayed with cash.
