The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has dismissed as false and defamatory recent claims circulating in the media, which it says are aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Bank and its Deputy Managing Director, Mrs. Eno Ofori-Atta.

In a press release issued on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Bank denied the allegations and assured stakeholders of its commitment to professionalism and transparency.

“We categorically refute the claims and assure our stakeholders that all decisions at ADB are guided by strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and policies,” the statement read.

The allegations stem from the recent termination of employment of some employees, a decision the Bank clarified was made by the Board of Directors during a duly convened meeting.

ADB emphasized that Mrs. Ofori-Atta played no improper role in the matter and has consistently upheld high standards of professionalism and performance since joining the institution.

“Mrs. Eno Ofori-Atta, since joining the Bank, has held herself to high standards of professionalism and performance,” the Bank noted.
Reaffirming its mandate to drive economic growth through agriculture, ADB called on the public to disregard the false information being circulated.

“We therefore urge the public to disregard the mischief and false information being spread about the Bank and kindly treat it with the contempt it deserves,” the release added.

The Bank also issued a stern warning to those spreading defamatory claims, signaling its readiness to take legal action if necessary.

“The Bank will not hesitate to pursue legal action against individuals or entities spreading such falsehoods,” the statement added
