Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu says he is yet to have a one-on-one conversation with the Speaker, Alban Bagbin on the absence of the Dome/Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo from parliament.
This comes after the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin is alleged to have given the most-talked-about MP permission to absent herself from the House, on health grounds.
But, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin categorically denied the reports – he said it’s false and urged the public to dismiss them.
He explained that Parliament has its own procedure to determine whether an MP is present or absent; which doesn’t fall under his jurisdiction.
However, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’ said he has no knowledge about the alleged permission from the Speaker to Adwoa Safo.
He told host, Kwesi Aboagye that he is yet to speak to the Speaker on the brouhaha surrounding Adwoa Safo’s nonappearance in parliament – with claims that the NPP is on the verge of taking a harsh sanction against her.
