President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid glowing tribute to former Finance Minister Professor Kwesi Botchwey.
His contemporary in the mid-1960s, President Akufo-Addo extended his condolences to Dr Botchwey’s family and to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The tribute was posted on Facebook on Monday, November 21.
Professor Botchwey died on Saturday, November 19 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
He had been on admission for a short illness.
Prof Botchwey served under late Jerry John Rawlings as the Secretary for Finance in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) regime and then as Minister of Finance in the first NDC government.
He was replaced by Dr Kwame Pepra in 1995.
