President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially withdrawn the appointment of Dr. Osei Bonsu Dickson as the Deputy National Security Co-ordinator.
The decision, communicated through a letter dated 2nd January 2024 from the Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, cited the need for further consultation and impending reforms within the National Security Establishment as the driving factors behind the withdrawal.
The initial letter, with reference number OPS101/1/24/04, had appointed Dr. Osei Bonsu Dickson to act as Deputy National Security Co-ordinator pending the constitutionally required advice of the National Security Council, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
