Teachers and students of the Akyem Tafo Presby Kindergarten and nursery can now breathe a sigh of relief as the ordeal of teaching and learning in a dilapidated school block has been ameliorated by the Kyidomhene of the Akyem Tafo traditional area Nana Adepa Amposah Yeboah l in the eastern region.
The traditional ruler has constructed and commissioned an ultra-modern KG block with the state of the art equipment at an estimated cost of Ghc 1.4 million.
It is an undeniable fact that most schools in the rural parts of the country are not in a good state – one of such schools was the kindergarten and nursery block of Akyem Tafo Presby school as the school block’s bad state hampered greatly the enhancement of teaching and learning.
It’s against this that the Kyidomhene of the Akyem Tafo traditional area constructed and has commissioned an ultra-modern KG block with the state of the art equipment for the school which hitherto had not been renovated for over fifty years.
Speaking in an interview shortly after the commissioning, the Abuakwa North municipal director of education Abena Gyamena expressed her gratitude for the Kyidomhene’s efforts in constructing the Kg block of the school.
According to her, the new block will contribute greatly to the enhancement of teaching and learning.
She highlighted some challenges which are confronting them and the measures they have put in place to address those challenges.
Akyem Abuakwa north municipal education director, Abena Gyamena also thanked Kyidomhene Nana Adepa Amposah Yeboah I for the gesture.
She however called on other stakeholders and the government to come to the aid of the school.
