2023 AFCON qualifier: Mensah discharged from hospital

Black Stars defender, Jonathan Mensah, has been discharged from hospital in Luanda, Angola, amidst fears after his injury in the last game against the Central African Republic (CAR) in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The defender picked a head injury during the second half of the match at the 11th November Sports Stadium in Luanda, last Sunday, after he was head-butted by an opponent which led to a concussion.

He was substituted and was rushed to Clinical Girasol, a private hospital in Luanda.

Mensah, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is doing well and is expected to return to action soon.

CAR held the Black Stars of Ghana to a 1-1 draw in their second group clash in Angola.

The Black Stars who won their first game against Madagascar in Cape Coast last Thursday were expected to win the second leg but ended up sharing honours with CAR.
