2024 Election is a battle between lovers and haters of Ghana – Fifi Kwetey

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that the December 7 general election is not a battle between the NDC and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) but a battle between those who love Ghana and those who do not love Ghana.

Ghanaian voters, he said, must therefore rally together to throw out the NPP government led by Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who have sent the country into a quagmire of misery and yet refusing to accept responsibility.

Addressing the NDC campaign launch at Tamale Jubilee Park on Saturday, July 27, Fifi Kwetey emphasized the need to prioritize the nation’s well-being over party affiliations, calling it a critical moment for the country.

According to him, it is the duty of Ghanaian voters regardless of their party affiliations to go out massively and vote the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government out.

The NDC General Secretary pointed to members of the ruling party that they have a higher stake in voting out the Akufo-Addo government in the December elections because not only has Akufo-Addo decimated country Ghana but has done the same to the NPP he inherited from President Kufuor.

Fifi Kwetey criticized Akufo-Addo and Bawumia’s governance, accusing them of leading Ghana into a state of “disgrace and destruction” over the past eight years.

He appealed to members of the NPP to join forces with the NDC to bring about change.

He said, “There are many of you in the NPP who know what is right, and you need to rally together with the good people of Ghana to ensure that this darkness comes to an end.”

He praised the legacy of former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s presidential candidate.

According to him, Mahama comes from a great tradition inspired by the founder of the country Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah adding, “We have a history of being nation builders.”

He emphasized the NDC’s commitment to restoring Ghana’s prosperity and integrity and its preparedness to tackle corruption and economic challenges.

He urged supporters of the party to be extra dedicated and make sure at every polling station, everyone is ready to work hard, open their eyes, and ensure that nothing goes wrong.

Fifi Kwetey appealed to the electorate to fight against the “shame” and “destruction” that has befallen the country.

“Let’s finish strong and ensure that we do this for the sake of our country, for the sake of our children, and for the sake of our children’s children,” he urged, expressing confidence in the NDC’s ability to lead Ghana toward a brighter future.
