2024 elections: Reject politicians inciting tribal, religious sentiments – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has emphasized the importance of avoiding politicians who seek to exploit tribal and religious sentiments for their gain.

The President warned that such individuals have nothing positive to contribute to the nation’s multiparty democracy, diversity, and unity.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Bantama in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo urged the electorate to be discerning in their choice of leaders as the 2024 general elections approach.

He stressed that voters should prioritize leaders with proven competency, a solid track record, and unwavering integrity.

“What matters most is that we give the nod to leaders whose competency, track record, and integrity cannot be doubted,” he emphasized.

President Akufo-Addo described the 2024 elections as critical for determining the nation’s development agenda.

He encouraged Ghanaians to entrust the leadership of the nation to individuals who are competent and trustworthy and not those promoting tribal and religious division. He cautioned against the risk of placing the destiny of the nation in the hands of incompetent leaders.

The President commended the Member of Parliament for Bantama and Minister of Works and Housing, Francis Asenso-Boakye, for his role in the construction of an e-library project.

Stressing the importance of the project in improving the standard of education for Ghanaian youth, President Akufo-Addo encouraged the people to take ownership of the initiative.
