Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be number one on the presidential ballot paper for the December 7, 2024, presidential elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Mahama, secured the 8th position after Friday’s balloting at the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters.
Other parties also took their places: the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP) picked number 2, the Ghana National Party (GNP) secured number 3, and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) will be number 4. The Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) took number 5, the National Democratic Party (NDP) picked number 6, and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) secured number 7.
The All People’s Congress (APC) took the 9th spot on the ballot, while independent candidates followed: Kofi Koranteng at number 10, George Twum Barimah at number 11, and Nana Kwame Bediako at number 12. Alan Kyerematen, also running as an independent, secured the 13th position.
The balloting process on September 20 saw some disagreements among party representatives but concluded successfully after more than an hour.
