2025 Ghana Football Awards: Thomas Partey adjudged Footballer of the Year

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been named Footballer of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards. The glamorous awards ceremony held in Accra on June 14, saw several players, legends of the game, club administrators, and officials being honoured for their efforts in the past year.

After his award on the night, Thomas Partey has now won the award twice, having received his first in 2019.

This year’s award crowns what has been a very good campaign for Arsenal in the 2024/25 football season and a recognition for his excellent showings in the Black Stars as well.

In addition to being adjudged Footballer of the Year at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, Thomas Partey also received the Football for Good Award in recognition of his philanthropic contributions off the pitch.

The 32-year-old midfielder shared this award with Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey.

The former Chelsea man has also been actively involved in social projects in Ghana that are impacting the lives of many Ghanaian youth.

In the other award categories, Sudan national team coach Kwesi Appiah picked up the Men’s Coach of the Year award following his impressive work in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Moroccan star and PSG defender Achraf Hakimi was named Best African International.
