In a recent opinion poll by Global InfoAnalytics, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s job approval ratings have sharply declined, marking a significant setback from the recovery observed in a July poll.
Field interviews conducted between 21st September to 1st October 2023, reveal that only 34% of Ghanaians approve of the president’s performance, while a substantial 66% express disapproval, leaving no room for ambiguity.
The numbers reflect widespread dissatisfaction among the Ghanaian populace and indicate a loss of confidence in the current administration’s ability to effectively address the nation’s concerns.
The poll also shed light on the public’s perception of the country’s trajectory.
A staggering 70% of voters believe that Ghana is heading in the wrong direction, while a mere 23% maintain faith in the current path. The remaining 7% refrained from expressing an opinion.
The survey delved into the citizens’ assessment of their livelihoods.
Nearly half of the respondents, precisely 47%, felt that their standard of living had worsened in the last 12 months. Only 18% reported an improvement, while 30% stated that their situation remained unchanged. The remaining 5% had no opinion to offer.
The results of the poll underscore a growing sense of discontentment among Ghanaians, indicating a pressing need for the government to address the concerns of its citizens promptly and effectively.
As the nation navigates these challenging times, the opinions expressed in this poll serve as a crucial barometer of public sentiment, demanding attention and action from the country’s leaders.
