Ablakwa’s Airport Hills tenancy confirmed: Managers Finali Limited provide clarity

The management of Airport Hills, Finali Limited, has officially confirmed that Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is a legal tenant at Plot 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard, Airport Hills, Accra.

This follows a formal request by the North Tongu MP to the firm to make this information public.

In a letter addressed to Finali Limited, the managers of Airport Hills, Ablakwa granted them consent to disclose details of his occupancy, ownership of the property, the size of the land, and the estate’s rental policies.

His request comes after the ranking member of the Appointments Committee questioned his place of residence during his vetting on Friday, January 31, 2025.

While the committee chairman disallowed further inquiries on his tenancy, Ablakwa insists that seeking full disclosure aligns with his values of accountability and transparency.

“I have absolutely nothing to hide in this matter. Even though the record of proceedings will confirm that the Honourable Chairman of the Appointments Committee disallowed further inquiries on my tenancy, I have decided to pursue this path per my principles of transparency, accountability and in the larger public interest,” Ablakwa stated in his letter.

In a response dated February 3, 2025, Finali Limited detailed the ownership and tenancy history of the property, affirming that Ablakwa and his spouse, Nuhela Seidu, entered into a valid tenancy agreement with the property owner, Husni Altheebeh, on March 1, 2017.

The agreement was renewed on March 1, 2022, and remains in force with the required consent from the estate managers.

It states:

1. A Land Title Certificate issued on December 15, 2017 and registered as GA. 53985 Volume 02 Folio 1440 for a parcel of land measuring 0.29 acre one plot, from Finali Limited to Husni Altheebeh.

2. A Tenancy Agreement dated March 1. 2017 between Husni Altheebeh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa & Nuhela Seidu, for which we granted our Consent on August 8, 2017.

3. A Renewal Agreement dated March 1, 2022. The tenancy is still subsisting, and the requisite consent has been granted thereon.

The estate managers also emphasized that Airport Hills operates as an owner-occupied community, with rental properties being an exception, subject to strict approvals.

The response from Finali Limited follows Ablakwa’s request for full disclosure, a move he described as necessary for transparency and accountability.
